How does awesome handle the closing and opening of the laptop lid? I'm running Awesome and when I close the laptop lid, the display turns off but the machine continues to run.

I believe that's just a power manager option, like in gnome (if not the same power manager). Haven't been using awesome lately, mostly openbox.

Are you referring to the giant clock on the left? Sadly, it's part of the wallpaper and not a widget (would love it as a one though). The description has been updated with the link to it.
